Our take

Is this the right course for you?

Advanced Clinical Practitioner is the NHS’s senior-clinician framework — nurses, pharmacists and allied professionals working at a level of assessment, diagnostics and management traditionally held by doctors — and the master’s is its academic backbone. Bradford teaches it at the affordable end (£15,700–£19,500). The honest framing for international readers: ACP training assumes current registration and meaningful clinical experience, and the full NHS ACP role normally grows inside NHS employment, where trusts commonly fund this degree for their own staff. The self-funded international use-case is narrower but real — senior clinicians building advanced-practice careers in home systems (the Gulf especially) that import the UK framework, and internationally registered clinicians pairing the credential with a UK registration plan we sequence separately.

TuitionWithin Bradford’s 2026/27 international postgraduate band of £15,700–£19,500 — the affordable end of ACP education. Exact fee in your offer; £5,000 deposit deducted.

Where this leads: An academic advanced-practice qualification — it confers no UK registration and does not substitute for NMC/GPhC/HCPC registration, which advanced roles presuppose. It evidences the ACP framework’s academic requirement.

Why Bradford

What makes this course at Bradford different.

The framework’s backbone

Advanced assessment, clinical reasoning and management — the master’s content the ACP career structure is built on.

The affordable ACP

A band from £15,700 undercuts most advanced-practice master’s — meaningful for self-funded senior clinicians.

Export value

Gulf and international systems importing UK advanced-practice models hire clinicians who trained in the original.

Entry requirements

What you need to apply.

  • Current registration as a nurse, pharmacist or allied health professional

  • IELTS around 6.5–7.0 or an accepted equivalent
  • A clear advanced-practice career thesis — we test it with you before any deposit

English language

Bradford asks IELTS 6.0 as standard — clinical courses often ask more.

Bradford expects a formal English test from most international applicants. Bradford does not publish a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter route, so plan for a formal test. It does, however, accept strong school-level English for some markets: typically 70% in English within CBSE/CISCE Class XII for India, and WAEC/SSCE English Language at C6 or better for Nigeria. Pakistani applicants are usually asked for IELTS or an accepted alternative.

Also accepted: PTE Academic 62 (59 in each part), Duolingo English Test 110 (100 in each subscore), TOEFL iBT 80, Oxford ELLT 6 (5 in each sub-test), BASALT — Bradford’s own English test, 6.0 (5.5 in each sub-test). Pre-sessional English is available if you fall short.

Your country

Applying to Bradford from your country.

From Pakistan

Bradford publishes clear equivalencies for Pakistani qualifications: HSSC/Intermediate at 60% is treated as roughly 96–119 UCAS points, 65% as 120–135 and 70% as 136+, while for Master’s entry a CGPA of 2.5/4.0 is read as a UK 2:2 and 3.0 as a 2:1. Bachelor degrees of three years or less usually need two years of relevant work experience on top. Budget carefully for the deposit — applicants from Pakistan currently pay £10,000 (not the standard £5,000) before a CAS is issued. On the plus side, the Bestway Foundation funds five full Master’s scholarships worth around £35,000 each for Pakistan-domiciled STEM students, and the city’s long-established Pakistani community makes settling in unusually easy.

From India

Class XII (CBSE, CISCE and most state boards) at around 70–80% maps to roughly 96–136+ UCAS points for undergraduate entry, and a bachelor’s at 60% is typically read as a UK 2:2, with 65–70% needed for a 2:1 or first. Usefully, Bradford accepts 70% in English within CBSE/CISCE Class XII in place of IELTS. Two things to note: applicants to MSc International Business Management from Punjab and Haryana are currently asked to pay the full tuition fee in advance, and India’s CAS and deposit deadline for September 2026 is 21 August.

From Nigeria

WAEC/SSCE alone does not qualify for direct undergraduate entry — students typically join via the International Foundation Year at the University of Bradford International College. For Master’s, an honours degree assessed as a UK 2:2 or above is expected. Bradford accepts C6 or better in WAEC/SSCE English Language (and the NABTEB equivalent) instead of IELTS, which saves both money and time. The university also has an in-country representative and a wide agent network across Lagos, Abuja and other cities.

From the UAE

Holders of the UAE General Secondary Education Certificate usually need a foundation programme before starting a bachelor’s degree, while postgraduate applicants are assessed on the standard GPA scale (2.5/4.0 for a 2:2, 3.0 for a 2:1). Bradford runs a Regional Hub at Dubai Knowledge Park — home of its Executive MBA in Dubai — so you can get face-to-face advice without leaving the Emirates. UAE nationals currently sit in the £2,000 tier of the Global Scholar Award.

FAQ

MSc Advanced Clinical Practitioner at Bradford — common questions.

Can an international clinician become an NHS ACP through this course?

Not through the course alone. NHS ACP roles presuppose UK registration (NMC, GPhC or HCPC) plus employment in which the advanced role develops — trusts typically grow and fund their own ACPs. The degree evidences the framework’s academic half; we sequence UK registration separately for clients pursuing the full NHS track.

Who should self-fund this master’s?

Senior registered clinicians building advanced-practice careers in systems that import the UK model — the Gulf above all — and experienced clinicians pairing the credential with a parallel UK registration plan. Early-career applicants are not the audience, and we say so.

What does it cost?

Fees from £15,700 in the 2026/27 band — the affordable end of advanced-practice education — with Bradford’s living costs among England’s lowest for the year.

What experience do I need to apply?

Current registration plus substantial post-registration clinical experience; the teaching assumes you already practise at depth. Send us your CV and we will assess honestly whether the course fits now or belongs two years further into your career.

Fees, entry requirements, English-language policies and intake dates are correct to the best of our knowledge at the date shown, but universities review them every cycle and immigration rules change. Always treat figures as a guide — we confirm the exact, current requirements with the university before you apply. Facts on this page last checked July 2026.
