Coventry is one of the UK’s largest nursing providers, and its pre-registration MSc Adult Nursing is the version of a UK nursing career most graduates overseas don’t know exists: two years, a master’s degree, and eligibility to join the NMC register — without repeating a bachelor’s. Half the programme is clinical placement across Coventry and Warwickshire’s NHS trusts, as the NMC requires. Be precise about which course you apply to: Coventry also runs a post-registration MSc Nursing for already-qualified nurses, which does not lead to UK registration. Fees sit in Coventry’s postgraduate band of £18,600–£22,550 for 2026/27, and the January and May intakes the university runs on many master’s do not generally apply to clinical cohorts — plan for September.

English language
Coventry can consider Medium of Instruction (MOI) evidence for some courses — though clinical and regulated programmes usually still require a formal test. Coventry's central pages publish CEFR levels (B2 for degree study) rather than a blanket MOI policy, but its regional admissions teams do consider English-medium study as evidence case by case — typically for postgraduate applicants whose bachelor's degree was taught wholly in English and awarded within roughly the last two years. Applicants from the Indian states of Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand are generally asked for a test regardless. Treat MOI as a possibility to be confirmed for your profile, not a guarantee — we pre-check this with the university before you apply.
Also accepted: Standard XII English at 60% (UG) or 65% (PG) from approved Indian boards, WAEC/SSCE English at grade C or above for Nigerian applicants, Other reputable English tests (e.g. PTE Academic) considered case by case. Pre-sessional English is available if you fall short.

Important: Coventry's own regional entry requirements page lists recruitment from Pakistan as currently paused (checked July 2026), and applicants from Pakistan have in any case been asked to pay the full first-year tuition fee before a CAS rather than a standard deposit. Recruitment pauses are reviewed each cycle, so the position can change between intakes — contact us at /contact/ for the current status, and we can shortlist comparable universities in the meantime (several on /universities/ actively recruit from Pakistan with lower deposits).
Full guide for PakistanCoventry publishes detailed India requirements: typically 60% in Standard XII for undergraduate business courses (65% in maths and a relevant science for core engineering), and for master's entry 60% in a three-year degree or 55% in a four-year degree — with 55% accepted for three-year degrees from select universities. Standard XII English at 60% (UG) or 65% (PG) from approved boards, including CBSE and several state boards, is accepted instead of IELTS. Note that applicants from Punjab, Uttarakhand and Haryana are currently asked to pay the full first-year fee before a CAS is issued.

For master's entry Coventry usually asks for a bachelor's degree at 2:2 or 55% and above. Nigeria falls in Coventry's lower £4,000 deposit band — one of the reasons it is consistently popular with Nigerian students — and the £2,000-per-year Group Scholarship applies to self-funded offer-holders.
Full guide for NigeriaCoventry does not publish a separate UAE requirements page, so entry is assessed on your qualification: students with the UAE secondary school certificate typically route through a foundation year, while A Levels, IB or strong CBSE/FBISE grades from UAE schools are considered for direct undergraduate entry. Master's applicants usually need a recognised bachelor's degree at around 2:2 equivalent. The standard deposit for UAE-based applicants is currently £8,000, and the multiple start dates suit working professionals who cannot wait for September.

Yes — it is an NMC-approved pre-registration programme. On successful completion you are eligible to join the NMC register as an adult nurse through the UK-trained route, with no CBT or OSCE, because you trained inside the UK system.
Coventry also offers a post-registration MSc Nursing for nurses already qualified — an academic degree that does not confer UK registration. International applicants mixing the two up is the most common (and most expensive) application error we correct. This page is the pre-registration route.
That is the design. Most graduates start as NHS Band 5 adult nurses; from there the Health and Care Worker visa route offers sponsorship, no health surcharge and a settlement path. We plan the visa switch — Student to Graduate or Skilled Worker — alongside your studies.
