Our take

Is this the right course for you?

Coventry’s scale is the story: one of the UK’s largest nursing providers, running NMC-approved BSc routes in adult, mental-health and children’s fields, with a mental-health programme ranked third in the country. For an adult-field student that scale delivers the things that actually matter — placement capacity across University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire, simulation infrastructure, and a school the region’s employers know by name. Fees hold a tight £17,600–£18,600 band at Midlands living costs, and Coventry’s graduate pathways (including the pre-registration MSc for degree-holders) mean the school can route every profile correctly — as do we.

Why Coventry

What makes this course at Coventry different.

Scale that serves students

One of the UK’s biggest nursing schools means placement breadth, simulation investment and employer recognition.

A ranked flagship next door

The 3rd-ranked mental-health field lifts the whole school’s clinical teaching standard — adult students share the infrastructure.

Every field, every level

BSc fields plus graduate master’s routes under one roof — if your profile fits a different door, Coventry has it.

Midlands affordability

A tight sub-£19,000 band with Coventry rents — and Birmingham’s market 25 minutes away at qualification.

Entry requirements

What you need to apply.

  • School-leaving qualifications at A-level equivalent, with published international thresholds; foundation routes available

  • Health clearance and enhanced DBS before placement

English language

Coventry asks IELTS 6.5 as standard — clinical courses often ask more.

Coventry can consider Medium of Instruction (MOI) evidence for some courses — though clinical and regulated programmes usually still require a formal test. Coventry's central pages publish CEFR levels (B2 for degree study) rather than a blanket MOI policy, but its regional admissions teams do consider English-medium study as evidence case by case — typically for postgraduate applicants whose bachelor's degree was taught wholly in English and awarded within roughly the last two years. Applicants from the Indian states of Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand are generally asked for a test regardless. Treat MOI as a possibility to be confirmed for your profile, not a guarantee — we pre-check this with the university before you apply.

Also accepted: Standard XII English at 60% (UG) or 65% (PG) from approved Indian boards, WAEC/SSCE English at grade C or above for Nigerian applicants, Other reputable English tests (e.g. PTE Academic) considered case by case. Pre-sessional English is available if you fall short.

Your country

Applying to Coventry from your country.

From Pakistan

Important: Coventry's own regional entry requirements page lists recruitment from Pakistan as currently paused (checked July 2026), and applicants from Pakistan have in any case been asked to pay the full first-year tuition fee before a CAS rather than a standard deposit. Recruitment pauses are reviewed each cycle, so the position can change between intakes — contact us at /contact/ for the current status, and we can shortlist comparable universities in the meantime (several on /universities/ actively recruit from Pakistan with lower deposits).

From India

Coventry publishes detailed India requirements: typically 60% in Standard XII for undergraduate business courses (65% in maths and a relevant science for core engineering), and for master's entry 60% in a three-year degree or 55% in a four-year degree — with 55% accepted for three-year degrees from select universities. Standard XII English at 60% (UG) or 65% (PG) from approved boards, including CBSE and several state boards, is accepted instead of IELTS. Note that applicants from Punjab, Uttarakhand and Haryana are currently asked to pay the full first-year fee before a CAS is issued.

From Nigeria

Undergraduate applicants typically need WAEC/SSCE with grades A-B in five subjects including maths, with English at minimum grade C accepted as English evidence; an OND or a recognised diploma can also be considered. For master's entry Coventry usually asks for a bachelor's degree at 2:2 or 55% and above. Nigeria falls in Coventry's lower £4,000 deposit band — one of the reasons it is consistently popular with Nigerian students — and the £2,000-per-year Group Scholarship applies to self-funded offer-holders.

From the UAE

Coventry does not publish a separate UAE requirements page, so entry is assessed on your qualification: students with the UAE secondary school certificate typically route through a foundation year, while A Levels, IB or strong CBSE/FBISE grades from UAE schools are considered for direct undergraduate entry. Master's applicants usually need a recognised bachelor's degree at around 2:2 equivalent. The standard deposit for UAE-based applicants is currently £8,000, and the multiple start dates suit working professionals who cannot wait for September.

FAQ

BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing at Coventry — common questions.

Why does the school’s size matter to me?

Placement capacity is nursing education’s bottleneck, and big schools hold more of it. Coventry’s scale buys placement variety, modern simulation and a name regional employers recruit from directly.

Does the degree lead to NMC registration?

Yes — NMC-approved pre-registration training in the adult field, with registration eligibility on completion and no CBT or OSCE.

I have a degree already — BSc or master’s?

Master’s. Coventry’s own two-year pre-registration MSc reaches the same register a year sooner — the BSc is the school-leaver route. We place every applicant on the correct side of that line.

What does it cost?

Fees hold £17,600–£18,600 per year for 2026/27, with region-based deposits of £4,000–£8,000 we confirm for your country up front. Coventry’s living costs sit comfortably below the southern average.

Fees, entry requirements, English-language policies and intake dates are correct to the best of our knowledge at the date shown, but universities review them every cycle and immigration rules change. Always treat figures as a guide — we confirm the exact, current requirements with the university before you apply. Facts on this page last checked July 2026.
